“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” –
Genesis 1:1.
God is known by different names, one of those is Elohim. Elohim
is a name of strength and power. Elohim is the infinite, all-powerful
God who shows by His works that He is the creator, sustainer,
and supreme judge of the world.
“In the beginning” this tells us that God has always been,
“created the heavens and the earth.” This tells us that God, Elohim,
is powerful enough to create everything we see and all we
do not see. Elohim created it all!
The earth is 7,917.5 miles in diameter and 24,901 miles in circumference,
and yet it measures less than a grain of sand in
comparison to the universe. The largest planet in our solar system,
Jupiter, could hold over 1,300 earths. Our sun, 92.96 million
miles from earth, is so large (864,337.3 miles in diameter) that it
could hold 1.3 million earths! There are over 200 billion stars in
our galaxy.
How did God create all of this? By the power of His Word! Elohim
is the creator of the universe. How can you get to know Him? The
Bible tells us we can know Him, through Jesus.
A theologian spoke at a conference and was asked, “Sir, do you
not believe that God has revealed himself in some other religions
besides Christianity?” he replied, “I do not believe that God
revealed himself in Christianity, I believe God revealed himself in
Christ.”
You can know God, Elohim, in all His might. Through His Son, Jesus.
We serve a Mighty God!
