Hope. This is a word that I have been thinking about quite a
bit this week. It is in the name our church, Hope Community.
It is a vital part of the life of a believer as we have faith
that God is in control and hope for the things to come
promised in Scripture. It is also a word that has meant a lot
to me this week as I have been spending time next to my
grandmother’s bedside as she lives out her final days on
this earth. It is certainly a sad time for our family, but because
of our hope in Jesus Christ, it is also a time of celebration!
Celebration that she will be made perfect in the
presence of Jesus. Celebration that we will see her again in
eternity!
Hope and faith in Jesus provide a different perspective on
life and things that happen in life that are such a great help
through the good and particularly the bad times. We know
that no matter what happens in this life, no one or nothing
can take our hope away. Our hope comes from Jesus. We
know that this earth is not our home and that our home is
waiting with our Heavenly Father. As we journey through
this season of Lent and prepare for celebrating the resurrection
of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, do you have this
hope? If not, I encourage you to find this hope that can only
be found through relationship with Jesus Christ!
Blessings,
Todd
